Proudly Serving Families in Arkadelphia, AR & Beyond
Miranda Childs, DDS and her team are dedicated to quality dentistry in a family-friendly and gentle atmosphere. Dr. Childs is proud to give back to the Arkadelphia community by providing general and preventative dental care that helps patients of all ages achieve optimal oral health. Our practice understands the importance of detecting and treating dental problems early, which will ultimately prevent the need for costly procedures down the line. We are equipped with CEREC technology to provide same-day crowns and 3D Imaging technology to more effectively place dental implants. Together, we will determine the best treatment plan for your lifestyle and budget so you can gain a brighter, whiter smile!
We recommend regular dental cleanings and check ups to help you maintain good oral health. During a routine cleaning, one of our hygienists will remove any plaque and tartar that has built up on your teeth. We will also check for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancer. We complete the cleaning by polishing and flossing your teeth. X-rays will also be taken during this time, if necessary.
Digital x-rays are an important diagnostic tool for identifying dental health problems that are not visible during a regular exam. Our practice uses the latest digital x-ray equipment to safely and accurately detect hidden pathology. We will also take the time to review and discuss your x-ray results with you.
Tooth fillings are used to repair teeth that have been affected by cavities and protect them from further decay. Types of fillings include gold, porcelain, silver amalgam (metal) and composite, or tooth-colored, fillings. Composite fillings are made to look like your natural teeth and can give you a better smile than you had before. These tooth-colored fillings not only enhance your tooth’s color, but will restore much needed strength and stability to your smile.
A dental bridge is utilized to replace teeth lost to gum disease, injury, or decay. Bridges close any gaps created by one or more missing teeth, preventing more discomfort. With the look and function of normal teeth, bridges are permanently cemented to surrounding teeth. A bridge will improve your ability to speak and chew properly, and stop neighboring teeth from shifting.
Same-Day Crowns (CEREC)
Dental crowns are used to completely cover a broken, cracked, or fractured tooth. They are cemented onto existing teeth to improve their strength and resistance to damage in the future. Usually made of porcelain or ceramic, crowns can also be a very esthetic option for enhancing your smile while also strengthening your teeth.
Thanks to CEREC technology, our office is able to design and place crowns in just one visit. We use this advanced technology to more quickly and effectively produce custom crowns and other dental restorations. Give us a call today to learn more about our same-day crown services.
Root canals, or endodontic therapy, is performed to save a tooth affected by a large cavity. When the pulp, or nerve, of a tooth becomes severely infected, it must be removed to avoid an extraction. Once the diseased pulp is removed, our team will carefully clean, disinfect, fill, and then seal the interior of the tooth. The tooth is usually restored with a crown for additional protection.
Aesthetic bonding is used to alter the shape and color of a tooth, while helping it fit in seamlessly with the rest of the mouth. This simple, low-cost procedure is ideal for patients looking to restore broken, cracked, or misshapen teeth. The composite material we use can be polished to match your natural teeth.
Dental veneers are used to address imperfections in a patient’s smile, whether it’s straightening teeth, closing gaps and spaces, or repairing chips. Typically made of porcelain and other tooth-colored materials, veneers are a permanent restoration option that are bonded to your teeth by strong adhesives. Veneers are stain resistant and look and feel like natural teeth. If you want to make significant changes to your smile, veneers may be right for you!
A dental implant is a titanium screw that is surgically placed into the jawbone to provide a stable support system for crowns, bridges, dentures, and other replacement teeth. The implant serves as the root of a lost or missing tooth. Dr. Childs has the tools and experience to insert a dental implant into any area of your jaw, as long as there is adequate bone structure. Using state-of-the-art Galileos Cone Beam 3D imaging technology, we can ensure your dental implants are being placed in the best possible bone.
With the proper care, dental implants can last over 20 years with very few complications. They are a dependable restorative option that add strength and function to your smile. Implants also help to maintain your facial structure and improve your ability to eat. Our practice is suited for any dental implant service you may need. Call us today to schedule a consultation.
Removable Partials & Dentures
We offer removable dentures and partials for patients who have lost all or some of their teeth, respectively. Partial dentures fill spaces created by missing teeth and prevent surrounding teeth from shifting. Both dentures and partials are a reliable option for replacing missing teeth. They help to keep your jaw properly aligned and are made to look and function like natural teeth. We will make sure your dentures or partials are made to comfortably fit in your mouth.
